May 22, 2012 – Houston – Houston-based Clay Development & Construction has just been announced as the 2011 Mid-West Builder of the Year. Clay, in business since 1998, specializes in industrial and manufacturing buildings. They are a turnkey developer – they buy teh land, design the site, build the facility and seel or lease the project to their client. Their ability to do all the architectural work, surveying and structural and civil engineering allows them to save their clients a considerable amount of time and money.

DD McMillian, Mid-West District Sales Manager, has worked with Clay for the past six years and says, ‘They are a very well-organized company. They are very experienced in the industry, know their business and handle it very well. They have a created a real niche in the market as general contractor and developer of industrial parks.”

Clay has developed 21 industrial parks totaling over 1,000 acres and has purchased many other smaller tracts for development. They have also developed single projects ranging from a 10,000 square foot office building to a 900,000 square foot distribution facility.

The company has also been named among Metal Construction News’ “Top Metal Builders” four years in a row as well as Houston Business Journal’s “Houston’s Small Business 100” five years in a row.

To celebrate their achievement, Mid-West President Ed Kohutek; Margie Davis, Project Engineer; and DD McMillian, District Sales Manager, hosted a dinner for Al Clay and several of his team members at Houston’s RDG + Bar Annie restaurant in the Galleria area.
