April 17, 2013 – Houston – The Klein Collins High School Tigers Baseball Team, 2011 Region II BiDistrict Finalists and Area II 2012 Finalists, is enjoying a major improvement at their home field thanks to Houston-based Mid-West Steel Building Company. The company recently sponsored the replacement of the outfield fence at the Klein Collins baseball field in the Klein School District.  The existing fence, constructed of plywood sheets, had been badly damaged during a storm last year.

The fence required 750 feet of material to complete. Labor to build the new fence was supplied by the Klein Collins Baseball Booster Club.  James Kuykendall coordinated the project for the Booster Club. Approximately 20 people worked two full weekends to complete the fence.  Kuykendall added, “We are extremely thankful for the materials donated by Mid-West Steel Building Company to rebuild the fence. The donation will change the look of the baseball field.  During these tough economic times, it is good to know that there are businesses out there that are willing to help out the local schools and communities. “

Klein Collins Head Baseball Coach Miguel Carlos Jr. echoed Kuykendall’s enthusiasm for the baseball field’s new look.  “I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to look at our baseball field and see a new first-class fence surrounding it.  The Klein Collins community, along with all who will attend District 13-5a games hosted at our school will be able to see firsthand the amazing new look at the Klein Collins Baseball Field.”

Klein Collins High School is the newest of four high schools in the Klein School district in Spring, Texas. It opened in 2001 and has an enrollment of more than 3,300 students in grades 9 through 12.
