Phoenix is a 2014 Mid-West Design Build Excellence Award winner. Phoenix, a Houston-based horizontal and directional drilling company,  required large areas unobstructed by support columns in their 112,500 square foot building.

To meet their needs, they utilized the patented Long Bay framing system to create 65’ interior bays. Long Bay had previously been used to create 60’ interior bays. For the Phoenix project, engineers were able to design a structure that would accommodate 65’ clear span bays, a first for the Long Bay system.

Clay Development and Construction was the General Contractor and designer. Amalda Enterprises was the erector and roofing contractor. Roof panels were Double-Lok® on a ½:12 roof slope. End wall and sidewalls were PBR and tilt wall.

This 110,560 square foot warehouse in Houston, TX, is a Long Bay® building. Plus, Long Bay® is pre-engineered to require less bridging, and fewer footings and columns — which saves money and increases usable space.

Designed by Houston architect Edward Tsao, general contractor was GRA-Gulf Cost Construction, LLC, Houston.

By combining this with endwall tie-in conditions, and this 50,000 square-foot building only has 12 interior columns! Long Bay® also offers superior strength-to-weight ratios and is compatible with many wall and roofing systems for increased flexibility in design and construction.

GRA-Gulf Coast Construction LLC was the General Contractor on this building, which also features Double Lok roof panels on a 1/2:12 roof slope. The erector and roof contractor was Amalda and designer was TNRG Designs.
