Project Description

The Fort Bend ISD Aquatic Center is a swimming facility that utilizes pre-engineered and structural steel in the  buildings that comprise the center;  a 40,000 square foot practice facility consisting of a 31,500 square foot pool enclosure and a 7,700 square foot support facility.

The pool enclosure is a pre-engineered steel structure, featuring light transmitting roof panels for enhanced light transmittance. Side walls are alternating panels of CMU and operable light transmitting panels. Operable walls and motorized skylight allow the pool area to be naturally ventilated during the summer and milder temperatures.

Adjacent to the pool is the administration services building, which contains offices, locker rooms, weight room , restrooms and public areas. General Contractor was Gamma Construction of Houston; erector and roofing contractor was Steel Masters; Designer was Kirksey Architecture.
